Joe received his Bachelor of the Arts in History and graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Afterwards, he attended law school at the University of Colorado School of Law. During law school, Joe began his focus on family law, receiving a certificate in Juvenile and Family Law with honors. He received additional family law experience as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Michael J. Vallejos on the domestic relations docket in the Denver District Court, and participated in Colorado Law’s Family Law Clinic, representing indigent persons with divorce and parental responsibilities matters in Boulder District Court. Joe then had the opportunity to continue his work with Judge Vallejos as he transitioned to a criminal docket in the Denver District Court.
After graduating from Colorado Law, Joe served as a law clerk to the Honorable Thomas F. Mulvahill of the Boulder District Court on both domestic and criminal dockets. He then practiced as an associate attorney in the litigation department at a larger Denver law firm, having the opportunity to serve clients with both domestic relations and criminal matters. Finally, before transitioning to Colorado Legal Group, Joe developed and managed the family law practice group for a Northern Colorado law firm while also retaining a significant criminal law practice. Joe has represented clients on both domestic and criminal matters throughout the State of Colorado and has significant trial and litigation experience.
